Keynotes

Prof. Rainer Wirth, MD, PhD holds the chair for Geriatric Medicine at Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, and is the director of the geriatric department of the University-Hospital. His main scientific interests are nutrition and metabolism in older persons, including dysphagia and sarcopenia. He has been president of the German Geriatrics Society (DGG) in 2021-2023 and chair of the working group on nutrition and metabolism of this society for 20 years. As an active member of the German Dysphagia Society (DGD) and the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN), he is involved in both national and international guidelines in the field of clinical nutrition in geriatrics and neurology, including dysphagia.
