Keynotes

Reinie Cordier is a Professor at Curtin University, Australia, and an internationally recognised researcher in psychometrics, outcome measurement, and their application to clinical decision-making. His work focuses on developing and evaluating measurement instruments that support meaningful interpretation and defensible clinical and research decisions.

In dysphagia, he has led international research on patient-, caregiver-, and clinician-reported measures, as well as visuoperceptual measures used in instrumental swallowing assessment. This work examines how measurement quality influences clinical interpretation, decision-making, and the strength of the evidence underpinning dysphagia care.

He leads international multidisciplinary research focused on improving how health outcomes are defined, measured, and used to inform clinical practice. His work aims to ensure that measurement strengthens, rather than obscures, clinical judgement and patient care.
